MP highlights 94.5% toilet facility deficit in schools

School sanitation remains a major challenge in Ghana, with several studies and reports identifying inadequate toilet facilities as a significant obstacle to quality education.

Mr Deh explained that many school buildings constructed under the Ghana Education Service (GES) did not include toilet facilities, a situation that continues to undermine hygiene standards and the welfare of students.

He called on the GES and Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to strengthen collaboration to ensure that all future school infrastructure projects are provided with toilet facilities.
