Military to secure James Town after massive waste evacuation – Ayariga

This comes as the government is preparing a major operation to evacuate the huge volumes of accumulated waste from James Town in Accra to the Adipa Waste Management Centre, an engineered landfill facility at Nsawam in the Eastern Region, with the military expected to play a key role in securing the area after the cleanup.

The military is expected to take charge of security at James Town following a planned government operation to evacuate the huge volumes of waste accumulated in the area.

Local Government Minister Ahmed Ibrahim Ayariga says the military will secure the cleared site to prevent residents from returning to dump waste and to stop squatters from occupying the land.
