Mahama must probe$1.7bn GoldBod loss – Abena Osei-Asare

Atewa East Member of Parliament and Chairperson of Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee, Abena Osei-Asare, has called on President John Dramani Mahama to order a thorough investigation into reported financial losses incurred by the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod).

According to the former Deputy Finance Minister, the reported losses require closer scrutiny to determine how they occurred and whether adequate measures were taken to protect public funds.

She further highlighted the potential opportunity cost of the funds involved, arguing that some of the reported losses could have been channelled into areas that would directly benefit Ghanaians.
