KMA announces temporary ban on new billboards

In a statement dated September 1, 2026, the KMA directed billboard owners, outdoor advertising companies, managers and individuals who rent out billboard spaces to report to the Assembly for verification.

The KMA said the exercise is aimed at ensuring that all billboard structures within the metropolis are properly authorised and that operators comply with the Assembly’s regulatory requirements.“All affected operators are therefore urged to comply within the stipulated period to avoid enforcement action,” the Assembly stated.
