Happy 76th Birthday to the Daily Graphic!

The Daily Mirror group of London, owners of the Graphic, accepted the proposal of the chiefs and Martin Therson-Cofie, a man of moderate views, became Editor of the Graphic at a time when the Gold Coast was recovering from the political shock waves set in motion by the shooting of three Ex-servicemen by the Gold Coast police (at Osu, near the Christiansborg Castle) on 28 February 1948.
They suggested that Mr Martin Therson-Cofie, Editor of the Ashanti Times (a paper owned by the AshantiGoldfields Corporation) be approached to become Editor of the Graphic.
Led by the Editor of one of the oldest papers, The Spectator, (DR NANKA BRUCE) they tried to strangle The Graphic at birth!
