Greater Accra set for clean-up exercise as gov’t rolls out flood mitigation plan

Speaking in an interview on JoyNews’ The Pulse on Thursday ahead of the exercise, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Ocloo, says the exercise, dubbed “Green Heart”, will serve as the region’s dedicated sanitation and clean-up campaign under the broader national response to the recent floods.

The two-day national clean-up exercise forms part of measures adopted by the Post-Flood Mitigation Committee following the recent floods that affected parts of the country and caused widespread destruction.

The Greater Accra Region is set for a major clean-up exercise on Friday as government begins the implementation of a post-flood mitigation plan aimed at reducing the risk of further flooding in affected communities.
