Funds to be allocated in 2027 Budget for a 'permanent solution' to flooding issues in Accra and elsewhere in Ghana - Ato Forson

The government has planned to allocate funds in the 2027 Budget to implement a permanent solution to flooding issues in Accra and other flood-prone areas across Ghana, the Minister of Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, has said.

Although the government has announced funding for the 2027 Budget and the medium term, details of the projects, financing arrangements and implementation timetable are yet to be made public.

He said President John Dramani Mahama had directed the Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources to prepare a long-term plan to address the country's recurring flood problem.
