FDA arrests two, warns public over fake ‘Dr Alfred’ capsules sold on social media
The FDA urged members of the public to be cautious when buying the product through social media platforms and to report suspected cases of falsified medicines and food supplements.
The FDA said the genuine product was manufactured by CV Al Manar Herbafit of Jalan Imogiri, Bantul, DI Yogyakarta, Indonesia, and registered in Ghana by Unateus Ghana Limited as a food supplement.
The FDA said the products had been adulterated with Sildenafil citrate, a prescription-only drug substance which was not declared on the product label.
