‎Early detection key to reducing prostate cancer deaths – Urologist‎

‎‎ ‎The 2026 awareness campaign, Prof Kyei said, provided an opportunity for health professionals, policymakers, development partners and the public to work together to ensure early detection and effective treatment of prostate cancer.‎ ‎Prof Kyei said Ghana had made progress in prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment, with facilities for ultrasound-guided biopsy, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), bone scans and prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) imaging available in the country.‎ ‎Prof Kyei called for stronger insurance support for prostate cancer treatment, saying financial constraints and insurance coverage limits could prevent patients from accessing timely care.
