Court extends plea negotiations in Wontumi's GH¢30m EXIM Bank case by 30 days
The High Court in Accra has given the prosecution and the defence 30 days to conclude plea bargain negotiations in the GH¢30 million alleged fraud case involving the serving convict and Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.
At the previous hearing, the court granted additional time for plea negotiations after both the prosecution and the defence informed it that discussions were progressing.
Mr Atta Akyea told the court that after discussions with the Deputy Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Dr Justice Srem-Sai, he was confident the parties could reach an agreement through plea bargaining.
