Bagre Dam spillage postponed over stable water levels – Water Resources Commission

The Management in Ghana Water Resources Commission has announced that the spillage of the Bagre Dam, earlier scheduled for Monday, 11th August 2026, has been postponed following a message received by SONABEL the management of Bagre Dam in Burkina Faso.

However, a latest update from the Ghana Water Resources Commission indicates that the planned spillage has been put on hold due to the stabilization of water levels at the dam.

In the initial notice, farmers and residents living along the White Volta were advised to stay away from the river banks in anticipation of the spillage.
