Anonymous donor pays GH¢80,000 for 5-year-old Joycelyn Amoako’s brain tumor surgery

An anonymous donor has paid the full GH¢80,000 required for the brain tumour surgery of five-year-old Joycelyn Amoako, following a public appeal for financial assistance to save her life.

However, the more critical procedure — the removal of the main tumour from Joycelyn’s brain through a craniotomy and tumour excision — remained outstanding due to the family’s inability to raise the required funds.

The family had already managed to finance an initial procedure after doctors discovered that the tumour was obstructing the flow of fluid within Joycelyn’s brain, causing fluid to accumulate.
