Ageing GWCL pipelines dating back to 1960s driving water losses – MD laments
Some pipelines operated by the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) date back to the 1960s and have deteriorated significantly, contributing to persistent leakages and water losses, the company’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Adam Mutawakilu, has disclosed.
Mr Mutawakilu said the company would continue replacing weakened and ageing pipelines as part of efforts to reduce leakages, minimise water losses and improve the reliability of water supply.
