Gideon Boako, a spokesperson for Vice President Dr.
Mahamudu Bawumia and the new Patriotic Party's Parliamentary Candidate for Tano North, has expressed skepticism about the motives behind the recent Democracy Hub protests, suggesting that the demonstrations lack authenticity, coming so close to the upcoming elections.
He made these remarks in light of the protests that have taken place in Accra, aimed at addressing issues such as illegal mining and governance concerns, which led to the arrest and subsequent remand of some 53 protesters.
Speaking in an interview on Peace FM on Friday, September 27, Dr Boako argued that with the elections just two months away, the timing of the protests raises questions about their sincerity.
