Former Black Stars midfielder Derek Boateng has voiced his frustration over the ongoing stadium crisis in Ghana, as the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the National Sports Authority (NSA) scramble to secure a venue for the Black Stars' next home match.
The issue came to a head after CAF withdrew its conditional approval of the Baba Yara Stadium, leaving Ghana without a standard pitch for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Sudan in October.
The decision followed Ghana's defeat to Angola at the stadium, which was widely criticised for its poor playing conditions.
Boateng, reflecting on the situation, expressed his disappointment at the lack of suitable infrastructure, stating that it is unacceptable for a footballing nation like Ghana to struggle with such issues. "It's so sad that we are in that kind of situation right now.
