The Technical University Senior Administrators Association of Ghana (TUSAAG) has announced a plan to embark on a nationwide strike, effective Friday, September 27, 2024.

TUSAAG said this was in response to the government's disregard for obligations under the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and failure to implement the revised allowances for senior members of public universities. "This declaration follows our earlier letter (Ref.

No TTD/8/9/241), which indicated our intention to initiate industrial action due to the government's refusal to honour agreements made in July 2024, following the directive from the Ministry of Finance in May 2024. "The continued inaction constitutes a clear violation of rights and demonstrates an unacceptable lack of attention for the Association.

Furthermore, the government has engaged in systemic discrimination against TUSAAG regarding the payment of common allowances, favouring other unions of the same class of workers in public universities. "TUSAAG is unable to tolerate working conditions that undermine the principles of fairness and equity.
