Paul Opoku-Mensah, is paid GH¢ 21,000 every month by the government despite the suspension of the project.

According to Malik, the Board of Trustees, including the general overseer, in 2022 said that they were working without any payment. "In 2022 the came to tell us the National Cathedral project was suspended in 2022.

In that same month, the Board of Trustees, those who were left, including the overseer, their boss, Dr Opoku-Mensah, said they were working free of charge for the people of this country and that they were not taking allowances; they were not taking salaries," he said.
