Lawyers of Democracy Hub, the organisers of the 'Reoccupy Julorbi House' and 'Say No To Galamsey' protest have petitioned the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) to investigate the conduct of the police over the recent protest. 48 protesters were arrested after Saturday and Sunday's protest.
Twenty-Eight of them have been remanded into police custody after they were denied bail on Tuesday, September 24.
Eleven (11) others were also denied bail but were remanded into prison custody.
The police in a statement described the protest as an "unlawful assembly" and accused the protesters of disturbing public peace.
