Illegal small-scale mining (Galamsey) and the fight against it must be approached from the governance perspective, not security and agriculture dimensions, Former legal advisor to Operation Vanguard, Dr.

Jamal Tonzua,  has said.

He urged the Council of State members to break their silence on it and assist the president in fighting this menace.

He said while speaking during the thought leadership forum on the theme "Galamsey Fight: Beyond the talk, what next?" organized by Media General in Accra on Wednesday, September 25, that "Why is the Council of State silent about this matter?" "This is a governance issue," he stressed.
