The (NDC) is holding its much-anticipated parliamentary primary in the Tamale Central Constituency at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, on September 6, 2025.

Twelve aspirants, including three women, are contesting for the chance to represent the party in the upcoming by-election on September 30, 2025, following the tragic death of the late MP, Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, in a helicopter crash on August 6, 2025.

The process began earlier with nominations opened from August 22 to 24, after which a vetting panel cleared all 12 candidates and conducted a ballot position draw on August 31.

The polls officially opened at 9:00 AM on September 6 and are expected to close at 2:00 PM.
