The Dean of the Faculty Journalism at the UNIMAC-IJ, former GIJ, Prof Etse Sikanku, has said that former Vice President, , is the best candidate to lead the NPP to the 2028 Election.

In a Facebook post analysing the NPP Presidential primaries, the respected political analyst, said , having served in public office at the Central Bank and as Vice President for eight years, has proven that he has what it takes to transform the country of given the opportunity to serve as President. "He has certainly been a unique, active, dynamic, path setting Vice President who made a difference for good not ill; one who has made the position more active, prominent and an instrument for digital transformation," Prof Sikanku wrote. "He's a thinker whose depth, foresight, vision and policy making expertise will change the nation, create not just a better but an enduring and secure Ghana for the present and future generation," he added.

Prof Etse commended Dr Bawumia for some of the impactful policies he championed, which said are global standards. "Even from a global and policy-making standpoint, he's up there with the best.

His experience and intellect will translate into policy which forms the basis for action, practical work and national building." Professor Sikanku also highlighted Bawumia's character traits, which he said are required to occupy the highest office of the country. "His competence is not his only strength.
