The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has alleged that about 243,000 names were unlawfully added to the 2024 provisional voters register.

The leadership of the NDC raised concerns with the provisional voters register that was shared with political parties and indicated that some discrepancies were uncovered and demanded a meeting with the EC to deliberate on how to effectively resolve those issues.

Tanko Rashid-Computer who is the Deputy Director of Elections and IT for the NDC, in an interview with on Citi FM, alleged that the Electoral Commission (EC) had about 243,000 names on the 2024 transfer list under questionable circumstances.

The NDC's Deputy Director of Elections and IT argued that it was difficult for the illegality to be detected by other voters because they don't go check major errors besides checking if their details were correct. "Voters go back to check their names and details for minor corrections, they are not checking for a pardon of data.

No voter goes to the polling station to check the total number of people registered or transfers happening and so what the EC is saying is that we can describe them as confident tricksters because most people do not understand what we are saying. "We are saying that we have uncovered 243,000 plus of added data of 2020 to 2023 transfer data to this year's transfer [list], thereby bloating the number so if you look at their transfer folder. "They are having about 566,000 transfers which didn't exist during the transfer window because if you look at the transfer window as it happened, we realised that we had about 367,000 transfer folders so when you take that one from what they have declared, you are seeing a difference of 243,000."
