Speaker of Parliament Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin has appealed for calm in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba district following reports of gunfire and displacements in parts of the area.
In a Facebook post, Mr.
Bagbin described the developments as "deeply concerning" and urged residents to remain calm and composed in the face of the unrest.
He reminded the people of the district of their longstanding reputation for harmony and peaceful coexistence, stressing the importance of preserving this identity. "Without doubt, STK district has always been revered for its harmony and peaceful nature, and it is crucial that we preserve this reputation," he noted.
