Ghana's Electoral Commission will meet political parties involved in the Akwatia by-election on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.
The meeting is geared towards engaging the political parties on key operational details for the September 2, 2025, elections.
The Eastern Regional Director of the Commission, who disclosed this meeting, said, "Our common interest is to ensure a peaceful, free, and fair election.
We entreat all political parties to conform to the rules so that, in the end, we can all achieve the peaceful election we are seeking." The Akwatia by-election has become necessary after the demise of Ernest kumi, who occupied the seat for just six months after the 2024 elections.
