The Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has explained why the (NDC) is poised and confident of a resounding victory in the upcoming September 2 by-election at Akwatia.

Speaking in an interview shared on ChannelOne TV's X page, on August, 26, Kwakye Ofosu said that the party is determined to win the seat as a tribute to the late Minister of Defence and NDC Director of Elections, Dr Edward Omane Boamah.

According to him, Dr Omane Boamah, who passed away tragically and unexpectedly, with the Z-9 Helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight (8) persons on August 6, 2025, had initiated the groundwork for a successful campaign at Akwatia. "We all miss Dr Omane Boamah.

We all know that before he passed on rather unceremoniously, so tragically, he had started laying down blockworks for a resounding victory in Akwatia. "So, in his memory, we will carry out the plan that he laid out and we will build on it and add more impetus to it and ensure that we finetune it to deliver victory for us in Akwatia," he added.
