Police in the Eastern South Region have arrested ten people and seized nine firearms in a series of security operations in Akwatia ahead of the by-election.
The weapons - eight pump-action guns and one locally made single-barrel gun - were recovered between August 22 and 23 through snap checks and targeted raids to curb illegal arms possession before the polls.
