Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has urged colleges of education across the country to strengthen partnerships with universities in order to roll out undergraduate degree programmes.
According to gbcghanaonline.com report on August 24, 2025, he explained that such collaborations would make higher education more accessible to teacher trainees while addressing challenges of distance and limited facilities. "We must create opportunities that bring education closer to our future teachers, rather than burdening them with barriers," the report stated.
The minister made the call during the inauguration of new governing councils for ten colleges of education.
The institutions include Dambai, Akatsi, St Francis, Fosu, Our Lady of Apostles, Holy Child, Kibi, Presbyterian Women's, SDA, and St Louis Colleges of Education.
