A Professor of Finance at the University of Ghana Business School, Professor Godfred Alufar Bokpin, has called for a shift in Ghana's culture of "title worship" to a focus on productivity and performance.

Speaking on the JoyNews' Newsfile on August 23, Professor Bokpin argued that while the misuse of academic and honorary titles needs to be addressed, the country must place a higher value on tangible results. "As a country, we should move beyond that.

We should be driven by productivity, by performance, that should be our consideration rather than we seem to worship titles and parade all these things," he said.

He challenged individuals to justify their titles by asking, "What have you done?
