The Ashanti Regional branch of the National Security Secretariat has seized and destroyed a consignment of counterfeit diapers smuggled from Nigeria.
According to a report by 3news.com on August 21 and sighted by , the diapers which were branded in the name of a Ghanaian company, were impounded at Asafo interchange in Kumasi while being offloaded three weeks ago.
A national security investigation subsequently established that the port duty documents covering the consignment were found to have been forged.
Further tests conducted by the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) confirmed that the products were fake and unsafe for public use.
