The president-elect of the Private Newspapers and Online News Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG), David Tamakloe, says his overwhelming victory at the Tuesday, August 19, 2025, polls signified a "clear call to duty" He has therefore assured that he will hit the ground running with dedication once he officially assumes office, promising to work hard to enhance the prosperity of PRINPAG.

In a victory statement, he said, "Our focus is on fostering a unified leadership and association, aiming to bolster our presence, diversify revenue streams for the benefit of our members and their institutions." He promised to seek significant collaboration with other sister organisations to elevate media standards in Ghana. "Through partnerships with the government and corporate entities, we aspire to advance the promotion, protection, and preservation of media freedom and free speech, aligning with the principles outlined in our constitution," he added.

He called on all the other elected executives and the other contestants to join hands to bring forth their valuable ideas and insights to support the new chapter at PRINPAG.

David Tamakloe, Managing Editor of Whatsup News and Editor of the New Republic newspaper, polled 87 votes, while his contender, Awudu Mahama, polled 34 votes.
