Shoddy bridge construction blamed for 17-year-old's death A 17-year-old student of Nkwanta Senior High School in the Oti Region tragically drowned after falling off a bridge in the Bontibor farming community.
The student was said to have fallen off the broken bridge and drowned while returning from the farm on Monday, August 18, 2025.
According to residents, the bridge, built about a year ago, was poorly constructed, rendering it susceptible to the recent heavy rains.
At the same time, its collapse has cut off the community and left residents stranded.
