The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohunu, has assured Ghanaians of the Service's readiness to maintain peace and order during the Akwatia by-election scheduled for Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
Addressing the media at the High-Risk Operations Training Centre at Akyerematen in the Eastern Region on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, he explained that the officers have undergone training to enhance their preparedness for the by-election. "We decided to come and sharpen their skills towards the Akwatia by-election.
We were brought here to come and see how prepared they are.
They are going to Akwatia well-prepared so that they can handle all the threats.
