The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) says months of investigation, supported by a parallel probe from the FBI in the United States, have not uncovered direct evidence of corruption in the case involving former Sanitation Minister Cecilia Abena Dapaah.

The inquiry, which began in July 2023, examined large sums of cash, frozen bank accounts, and valuable items linked to the former minister and her associates.

In its 2025 half-year report, the OSP noted that while no immediate evidence of corruption was established, investigators found strong signs of possible money laundering and financial structuring-issues that fall outside the OSP's direct mandate.

Madam Dapaah has consistently challenged the investigations.
