Black Stars assistant coach John Paintsil has welcomed the new Ghana Premier League sponsorship deal, describing it as a major relief for club owners who have struggled to keep their teams afloat without financial support.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed a partnership with Adesa Production for the coverage of the upcoming league season.
Under the agreement, each of the 18 top-flight clubs will receive GHC 1 million in pre-season funding, amounting to a total of GHC 18 million.
Paintsil believes the package will ease the financial strain on club administrators. "The 18 million GHC for the GPL clubs is a big boost; it will lift the stress of the club owners.
