Ghana comes to a solemn standstill today, August 15, 2025, as the nation lays to rest six among the eight individuals who perished in last Wednesday's tragic military helicopter crash at Adansi Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region.

The state funeral, scheduled to begin at 7:30 A.M.

at the Forecourt of the State House in Accra, will bring together the country's leadership, bereaved families, members of the Ghana Armed Forces, and citizens from all walks of life to honour the memory of the fallen.

The victims were en route to Obuasi for the launch of the Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Programme (rCOMSDEP) on August 6, 2025, when the Ghana Armed Forces' Z9 helicopter went down in what President John Dramani Mahama described as an "unpredictable and violent" crash.
