The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, on Thursday, August 14, led members of the Executive Council to lay a wreath in memory of the eight Ghanaians who died in the tragic helicopter crash on Wednesday, August 6.
The Ghana FA delegation included some staff of the association and club officials.
The solemn ceremony took place at the gardens of the Jubilee House, the seat of government.
Paying tribute to the eight deceased, President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku described them as heroes who died in the line of national duty, stressing that their memory will always be cherished. "On behalf of the Football Association and the football community, we express our sincere condolences to the President of our Republic, the Government, the people of Ghana, and the families of the eight outstanding departed Ghanaians.
