The National President of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA), Efua Ghartey, has stated that the fatal helicopter crash which claimed the lives of eight people on August 6, 2025, is a tragedy that should never befall the country again.

According to her, the loss of the eight individuals was a tragic one, as she eulogised them for living lives worthy of emulation and for dying in line of duty.

Laying a wreath on behalf of the GBA, Ghartey stated that news of the fatal crash deeply affected the association, just as it did the entire country, considering the grave nature of the accident, one unprecedented in the nation's recent history. "Indeed, when we heard this tragic news last week, we were deeply moved as an association because in our recent history, this indeed is an accident that we have not encountered. "And the lives that were lost and the investment that has been made in those lives, it's obvious that this was a tragedy for the nation.

So today we are here to lay our flowers in honor of these exemplary persons who have lost their lives," she said.
