The Volta River Authority (VRA) has refuted media reports suggesting that a helicopter belonging to the organisation made an emergency landing in Nkawkaw, Eastern Region.
In a statement issued on August 13, 2025, VRA emphasised that the helicopter in question does not belong to the Authority, nor does VRA operate aviation services. "Our checks indicate that the helicopter belongs to the Volta River Aviation Limited (VRAL), which is registered with the Petroleum Commission," the statement clarified.
The Authority reiterated that its mandate is to provide affordable, reliable electricity to power economies and improve lives, and that it has no involvement in aviation operations.
The public was strongly advised to disregard the false reports.
