The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has issued a formal apology to the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and President John Dramani Mahama over what it describes as some condemnable statements made by some members of the party following the recent fatal helicopter crash.

Addressing the leadership of the NDC, led by the Party's National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, an NPP delegation led by the party's General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Kodua, emphasised that such comments do not form any part of the party's position on the tragic incident. "It is important that in times like these, we all show solidarity.

Indeed, there are certain comments that are made by what we refer to as footsoldiers or people who are not even closer to the leadership of the party but sometimes, it is important that when such unfortunate condemnable statements are made, both divide, the leadership comes out to distance ourselves from it and to also let them know that is not a trait of our party. "After this incident, we would admit that some statements, both NPP and NDC, some are claiming that NPP are behind it.

All those things and some are also saying that they were even expecting some other people to have died.
