The Suspended Chief Justice of Ghana's judiciary, Justice Gertrude Araba Sackey Torkornoo, has visited the Ceremonial Gardens of the Jubilee House to lay flowers in memory of the eight victims who lost their lives in the recent helicopter crash.
In a video shared by The 1957 News, Justice Torkornoo, in the company of her husband, Francis Kofi Torkornoo, conducted the brief commiseration act, which has been ongoing since 7 August 2025, a day after the tragedy.
On 6 August 2025, a Ghana Air Force Harbin Z-9 military helicopter crashed into a forested mountainside in the Adansi Akrofuom District, Ashanti Region, killing all eight people on board.
The helicopter was en route from Kotoka International Airport in Accra to Obuasi for an event focused on combating illegal mining.
