The 2024 Parliamentary Candidate for Assin South Constituency, Stephen Kofi Baidoo, has expressed sorrow over the military helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight Ghanaians at Adansi Sikaman in the Ashanti Region on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
In a statement on August 14, 2025, Baidoo extended his condolences to the bereaved families, describing the incident as a "national catastrophe" that has left a deep scar on both the (NDC) and the country at large.
Among the victims were prominent political figures including Dr Edward Omane Boamah, Dr Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, Dr Samuel Sarpong, Acting National Security Coordinator Alhaji Muniru Limuna Mohammed and military personnels. "These were not ordinary men; they were pillars of governance and strategy in the current administration," Baidoo stated.
Baidoo urged the government to conduct a full-scale, transparent and independent investigation into the cause of the crash.
