The founder and leader of the Life Assembly Worship Centre in the Greater Accra Region, Christian Kwabena Andrews, has strongly criticised some prophetic pastors in Ghana, accusing them of bringing disrepute to the pastoral ministry through sensational and life-threatening prophecies.
Speaking on the Ghana Yensom morning show with Otafrigya Kaayire Kwesi Apea-Apreku on Accra 100.5 FM, Monday, August 11, 2025, Rev Andrews, also known as Osofo Kyiri Abosom and also leads the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), claimed that "93 per cent" of such prophets are "jokers" who lack seriousness in their calling.
He said many of them thrive on public attention, issuing alarming predictions about national leaders without first engaging them privately. "God reveals to redeem," he stressed, "but these so-called prophets reveal and then walk away without offering solutions." Andrews recalled a time when he privately delivered a prophecy concerning the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
Instead of going public, he contacted the Manhyia Palace directly, discussed the matter, and worked towards a resolution. "After the meeting, the King thanked me for the mature way I handled it," he noted, questioning why others choose national television to broadcast personal prophecies about leaders.
