The Minister of the Interior, , has said that his late colleague and friend, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, hated flying on a helicopter.
According to the minister, his late former colleague had not even been in any helicopter since the current government took office in January 2025, even in his capacity as the Minister of Defence.
Speaking in an interview, the Muntaka said that the only reason Dr Edward Omane Boamah agreed, for the first time, to board the chopper, was because of his passion to end illegal small-scale mining (galamsey). "Dr Omane Boamah never liked boarding a helicopter.
Since we came, not once has he ever boarded any of the helicopters, but because of galamsey, he was ready to board and yet, the first time he used it, he never returned," he said.
