Communications Director of Asante Kotoko, Samuel Safu Duku, has insisted that the club is determined to play their CAF Confederation Cup home games at the Baba Yara Stadium.  The 40,000-seater stadium is currently unfit to host any CAF-sanctioned games due to its current state.

With Kotoko set to face Nigerian side Kwara United in the first round of the preliminary round of games, Sarfo Duku said the club is putting in effort to ensure the stadium is up to standard. "We have been working on the pitch and the entire stadium to meet the CAF standard," he told Asempa FM. "We are yet to know when officials from CAF arrive in Ghana for the inspection, but we will make sure we play our games at the Baba Yara Stadium. "With regards to cost, Kotoko has decided to support the National Sports Authority in ensuring that the stadium is up to standard, but the majority of the cost will be taken care of by the National Sports Authority [NSA]," he added.

The first leg of the encounter will be staged at Kotoko's home between September 19 and 21, with the return in Nigeria from September 26 to 28.

The winner of the tie will face Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca in the next round.
