Kwara United's General Manager, Mallam Bashir Badawiy, has expressed quiet confidence ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup first preliminary round clash with Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko.
Speaking on Akoma 87.9 FM, Badawiy stressed that while football is not a battle of life and death, his side is determined to overcome the challenge posed by the Kumasi-based club. "The expectation is for us to do better than the last time we played in the Confederation Cup," he stated. "We are not here to boast - football is the same everywhere.
It's not a war; it's not do-or-die.
We will try our best to make our fans, supporters, and well-wishers happy." Badawiy highlighted the cyclical nature of football dominance in Ghana as an example of how quickly fortunes can change. "There was a time Hearts of Oak dominated, then Kotoko won the league back-to-back.
