The Institution of Engineering and Technology Ghana (IET-GH) has expressed sorrow over the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight Ghanaians on August 6, 2025, near Adansi Akrofoum in the Ashanti Region.

In a condolence message signed by its President, Engr Henry Kwadwo Boateng, the Council and Executive Committee of IET-GH extended sympathies to President John Dramani Mahama, the Government and the bereaved families.

The accident claimed the lives of, Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Minister of Defence, Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, Alhaji Muniru Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, Dr Samuel Sarpong, Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Samuel Aboagye, Deputy Director-General of NADMO, Squadron Leader Peter Baafemi Anala, Ghana Air Force, Flying Officer Manaen Twum Ampadu, Ghana Air Force and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah, Ghana Air Force.

IET-GH described the deceased as "distinguished Ghanaians" whose lives reflected excellence, discipline and an unwavering commitment to public service.
