The Ghana Education Service (GES) has directed the headmaster of Nkwanta Senior High School to step aside from his duties with immediate effect.

In a letter dated August 5, 2025, and signed by the Acting Oti Regional Director of Education, Irene Jacquelinda Attabra, the directive was issued to Solomon Bagme following his alleged unauthorised media engagement on August 4, 2025.

During the engagement, he reportedly solicited public support to feed WASSCE candidates at the school without prior approval. "I am directed by the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service to instruct you to step aside from your duties as Headmaster of Nkwanta Senior High School, Nkwanta South Municipality, with immediate effect. "This directive follows your alleged unauthorised media engagement on August 4, 2025, during which you reportedly solicited public support for the feeding of students during the ongoing WASSCE without prior approval," the letter stated.

According to the letter, the headmaster is to cease all official functions and refrain from making public statements on the matter while an independent investigation is conducted. "You are further required to hand over all school property and administrative responsibilities to the Regional Director of Education immediately, pending the outcome of the investigation," the letter added.
