The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, has announced that the bodies of the eight individuals killed in the military helicopter crash in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, have been retrieved.

He shared the update on his Facebook page, stating, "8 bodies retrieved.

May their souls rest in peace." At an emergency press briefing at the Presidency, Chief of Staff confirmed that the Minister of Defence, Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, and the Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, were among those killed.

Other victims include former Ashanti Regional Minister Samuel Sarpong; Alhaji Muniru Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator; Samuel Aboagye, a former NDC parliamentary candidate; and Dr Samuel Sarpong, Vice Chairman of the NDC.
