The Ghana Education Service (GES) has affirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of candidates sitting for the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in conflict-prone areas of the country.
In an official statement signed by the Director-General of GES, Prof.
Ernest Kofi Davis, the service disclosed that students from schools such as Bawku SHS, Nalerigu SHS, Zuarungu SHS, and Nkwanta SHS will write their exams at their originally designated centres under "safe, secure, and exam-friendly conditions." According to the statement, adequate security measures have been put in place to protect the candidates, while psychosocial counselling is also being provided to support learners who may be affected by the ongoing conflicts in these regions. "We assure all stakeholders that our candidates are safe and well-supported to take the exams," Prof.
Davis said, reinforcing GES's dedication to maintaining stability and confidence in the country's educational processes.
