Former Deputy Tourism Minister Mark Okraku-Mantey has responded to Kennedy Agyapong's comments, which he claims were intended to undermine his intelligence and credibility in the tourism sector.

Speaking during a studio interview on Movement TV and Wontumi Radio (Accra), Okraku-Mantey expressed disappointment at remarks allegedly made by the former Assin Central MP, suggesting that he knows next to nothing when it comes to tourism - a claim he says stemmed from Agyapong's belief in "estate tourism" and his son's involvement in event organisation. "He believes in estate tourism which is also part of tourism, but he should be mindful of how he rubbishes people," Okraku-Mantey said. "Else if I decide to respond, he might think I don't have respect for him." He didn't mince words about the perceived insult, cautioning Agyapong not to confuse his personal experiences or his son's activities with the entire work of the Ministry. "For him to say that we lack intelligence as people working at the ministry simply because his son is into organising of events… he thinks his son is into organising of events and knows a little about tourism, so that means some of us don't know our job.

Your own son knows that we have the knowledge," he asserted.
